Eye Doctor Waiting Room

Spots in my eyes. I went to Dean A McGee eye clinic. The eye Doctor I was seeing was Dr. Watts, a resident, which was on the first floor. My appointment was at 8:00 am, I arrived about 30 minutes early and got in right at 8:00. I was a new patient, did an eye exam and dialated by eye and really had a good eye exam, Cost me $120. I thought was really pretty reasonable. The doctor had me go and do some blood test for things that it could be told me to come back in one week. Got the blood test done that morning. The nurse told me that it would be on the computer and the eye doctor could pull it up.

One week later my appointment was at 8:00 and again I arrived 30 minutes early and I went to the first floor, then they sent me to the second floor and she looked into my eyes and couldn't get the blood test back, because the lab didn't open till 9:00 and told me to come back in 2 weeks. They charged me $95. I was truly upset. So I called, it took about 3 days for the billing department to look into the problem. She had me down as a new patient. They reduced the bill to $60, which I thought was still high, but better than $95.

Two weeks later I went back, went to the second floor and asked where the doctor was today. She called and told me to go to the first floor. So I went to the first floor and signed in. Waited and waited and waited. The girl that was calling patients finally asked what doctor I was waiting on. I told her and in about 10 minutes a girl from another direction came in and said I was supposed to be on the 2nd floor. I was a little upset at this point. The doctor said that the blood tests all came back normal, she looked into my eyes once, told me to come back in 3 weeks and they charged me $80. I asked at the desk, and of course they didn't know. So in the parking lot I called the same girl I had spoken to before. She said that they hadn't given me a credit from the last time, yet and she would do that. But she would check into the billing and call me. Three days later I called her back. Yes, she had charged me wrong again. You would think that someone paying cash would get a discount.

Well, I am not going back in three weeks. I have spent $240 to the doctor. $35 in blood test. $50 in drops for my eyes and the spots are still there. What a waste of time and money. Can you image how much money they are making on the insurance companies, where the patient's don't question the bills. What a ripe off to the insurance companies.

Where do you go to get a good doctor? Where do you go to complain about the waiting rooms of America? Why do I always have the trouble. Bob says that I am a "Potential Trouble Source"
