No Manager on Duty

What kind of business does not have access to a manager at all times?

My husband and I went to Priscilla's at 615 E. Memorial Rd, in Oklahoma City. I purchased a Medium teddy. I was so excited about the purchase. But that shortly changed.

When I got home I tried it on. I am not sure what size I had. Everything I buy is a Medium, but this one didn't fit. It had a lace up back, so I decided that if I would unlace it I could get it on. NO LUCK there. So on Sunday afternoon I made my second trip to North Oklahoma City to exchange. I had checked my receipt to make sure that I could. It said that if all tags were attached I could exchange within 30 days.

When I arrived at the store I was told by the young clerk "Stephanie" that I could not exchange the item. She said I would have to come back between 9 - 4 / M - F to speak with a manager. I work 9 - 5 / M - F. A trip back to Memorial is not within my lunch hour time, and the gas for another trip.

I asked if she could call a manager. She had no way of getting ahold of a manager.

I left the store and called three other stores, they all said that a manager could be reached at any time, for any reason.

Questions:
Why is your store different?
I just wanted to exchange a size. I didn't demand my money back, I did exactly what the receipt ask for in the terms of a teddy return. Nothing out of the ordinary. But I my return was some BIG DEAL. Every other store that I talked to said that I should have been given more consideration and a little bit of kindness, then just be slapped in the face, with NO YOUR NOT IMPORTANT!

So, when I called back to the Memorial store and explained to Stephanie that I had talked to several other stores and they said that a manager should be able to be reached at all times. She had no more concern for her customer than a begger in the street. At this point Stephane proceded to tell me that the manager was in a meeting. Come on, how stupid do you think I am? Sunday afternoon and a meeting, even if she was in a meeting, a call could have been taken. At this point I am not sure which lie to believe. I think that the demeanor of this employee was not called for.

I tried to go on line and check out the website. There was no contact information on the site. No way to contact anyone. I then went to registration information and found a couple of eMail address. I eMailed them my problem with the Memorial store. Also I have heard nothing back from them at this point either.

As a good business practice, BOTTOM LINE is: If you are going to leave an employee in a store that cannot handle the job, a manager should be able to be reached.

I left me phone number and name with Stephanie and she said a manager would call me. I tried to call Monday at 9 AM. the line was busy. Again at 10 AM and the line was busy. I have not received a call from the manager. Still more lies.

If you don't have customers then what is the future of your business?
